1908 Cockburn (Magnum)
Tasting notes:
Note: on the evening, we opened what was expected to be a 1935 Cockburn and discovered it to be a 1950 Cockburn, hence two entries for 1950 Cockburn in the tasting notes.

25% opacity, brown amber, slightly cloudy. Ripe cranberries, tea on the nose. Sweet entry, heat and bitterness early to mid palate. Fruit highly extracted, sugary, some acidity still there to give some structure.

Top shoulder fill to this magnum bottled by Great Eastern Hotels. Dark orange in tone and slightly murky, 30% opaque. Soft orange oil on the nose, slightly dirty and smoky but reasonably fragrant. Smooth entry, dry and with minimal fruit - what fruit there is resembles dried orange peel and dried pineapple. There is some heat on the finish, then a long bitter orange flavour lingers for a very long time. Slightly dried out. 89/100.
