In honour of the forthcoming nuptials of Prince Henry of Wales KCVO and Miss Rachel Meghan Markle, we gathered on Tuesday 15^th May 2018 to drink ‘Port Fit for a (New) Duchess’, the theme being an echo of Port Fit for a Queen enjoyed on the occasion of Her Majesty’s reign exceeding that of Victoria.

F60, bottled by BBR. Dark red, 50% opaque. Rich strawberry, and red cherry, and long. Lovely, but drink up.

Deep red with a mature tone; 50% opaque. Little on the nose despite a good swirling but patience does allow a little perfume to appear. Mature dried citrus zest comes through on the palate with a few different layers of flavour of red bell pepper and capsicum but there is also an odd soapy tone. The finish is long, but is also dry and with the same odd soapy component. 87/100.
