Liver awareness month - completed

Post by Axel P »

As I told you earlier, I didnt open a single bottle of Port, always said "no thanks" when invited and even abused cough sirup with alcohol during January.

One exeption: my wifes uncle came by the day after his birthday when he opened a Romariz Colheita 44 (a very fancy triangular bottle) which I got him 3 years ago and left me a glass. Unfortuntately this was all up - oxygen for too long, though everyone else drinking it at that evening said it was outstanding.

It wasnt all that easy not to lay hand on Port for a month and Im totally out of training. As I do have the Grahams vertical tonight I tried to warm up a bit with a bottle of Grahams LBV (the only Port in my brother cellar) whist playing poker. I felt the alcohol after the first glass...

Well done, Axel - you did far better than I did in January.

Good luck with that vertical - make sure you taste all the great ones before your liver starts to object
