Correct.

But I wish we were allowed to have a drink. Derek's diet is a real downer. Lemon water and rocket salad all day.

Whenever I go to the cricket I often wish there were fewer people drinking. Hanging out with the auld fellas midweek is my bag.

I sympathise.

There were too many people there today who were just too loud and obnoxious. Louts. Footballish idiots. There were times when I didn't enjoy being where I was. That isn't too painful at £20 for a "Late Gate" ticket, but at £90 would have caused me to be seriously annoyed.

Hello everyone. The early morning cloud has blown through, the spitting rain is off and the sun is shining. SL have scored 9 this morning including one boundary. This is looking good.

Chateau de Batailley 2004. Excellent. Like having tannin toothpaste. Amazing juice. The difference with the (very good) Exhibition Pauillac is marked. This is very full and rich.

From what I hear on the radio - my fall-back to finding out what is happening at Lord's since ball by ball commentary from the TPF TMS is very intermittent - this morning's play can best be described as turgid.

It wasn't turgid but it didn't move along too sharply.
Does claret go through a dumb phase? The Croix de Beaucaillou 06 had a wonderful nose but it only gave thin acidity in the mouth, no roundness or fullness. Quite inoffensive but not great. So we have moved on to a Krohn 82 Colheita.
During lunch we were graced by a visit from a member with whom we shared our pork pie.

Much wondering as to what on earth is happening with these scoreboards. A manual scoreboard (with obligatory man and boy inside) was wheeled out at one point. Oh, and Sangakkara got 100 and Jayawardene got 50.

The Krohn 82 is pleasant but it doesn't have any surprises. School desks in the nose, heat and dried figs in the finish. It's gone now.

The Niepoort 2001 Colheita half has gone down nicely. Lots of rambunctious fruit well balanced with spice, not excessively juicy. Perfect for seeing in the SL 300.

Absolutely it does! Just as Port goes out of balance, so do most red wines meant to be worth maturing.

What's going off here? No result at Lords, a slow soggy pitch, somebody needs to have a word with the groundsman. All very well having an outfield like a carpet but it's the bit in the middle which makes the game interesting.

Derek you have my sympathy. Cricket is often quite boring but when it is made so by the deliberate effort of the ground staff, well, hrmph.

These are the five we bowled out.
We left at 6 pm. Heard the last wicket fall as we walked past the Grace Gate. Now we're in the Windsor Castle discussing the merits of the day.
The pitch was rubbish.
England weren't actually as bad as they seemed.
Sri Lanka were miserly.
