I'm off to bed now (we're one hour ahead), should I be given the right to ask a question, I would like to hand it over to Daniel (just to get this thread going now that it has been revived after such a long time).

Very good.
I asked for “precisely”. So I’ll allow ten posts from now. If within ten posts somebody get my favourite
Pastis, that person wins. But if not within ten posts, AW77 has it.

Please can the next question be "Should Scotland be an independent country?"
Yes, no or who cares being the only permissible answers.

Not him. This was an Englishman alive at around the same time and much more famous for innovations in an entirely other field of photographic endeavour.

What a weird way to spell Mybridge. No, not him, but good guess. This man inspired a poet.
Here's a clue - a picture of him:

I think the photo looks like a young Tennyson, with his proto-beard and odd dress sense. I mean even in black and white that waistcoat/trouser combo is a car crash. And he looks miserable.
Now I'm not sure if the picture is of the photographer we are supposed to be guessing or the poet who he inspired. I'd almost forgotten about Daniel's clues.

The photograph is of the photographer, but you have inadvertently guessed the poet!
Actually I got it the wrong way round; the poet inspired the title of his most famous photograph.
Which means the photographer must be…?

Yes. But as you're off to Baden Baden bright and early on yet another bookish jolly we had better press on without the nod from the head boy. He won't mind, ask away.

No. The main clues that would give this away are that (a) I used the male pronoun throughout and (b) Cameron does not look like the man in the photograph I posted. Even though she did, of course, take a famous photograph of Tennyson as an old man.
Try again Owen.

It's Roger Fenton and you're all rubbish. You can't even recognise a man in a photo and google the title of a photograph. It's Owen's turn since he clearly knew the answer.
