Don't think it can be - don't Presidential candidates have to be US-born? Otherwise Arnie would probably have been president years ago.
Are you commenting or guessing?

That is a correct assertion, making the original answer of DRT incorrect.
I will say the question lends itself to some google assistance...

By googling assistance, I mean likely someone you've never heard of, but definitely should get to know.

That's got to be 'answer avoidance syndrome'. I shall guess Ross Perrot, in the same vien.

Well, I guess someone has to do the dirty work:

Now I'm a little bit confused. Is it my question or not? I think this might be a case of "lost in autocomplete"...
I could fire away a question but do not want to push to the front.

Don't play for time, the confusion is un confused and as clear as noon. I like the 'Adubs' name, I may adopt it in addressing you, unless it causes upset.

This is a splendid idea. You can call me Adubs and I will call you Odar. So we will have our own secret pet names.

Well, here is the new question:
One of my favourite writers died tragically. In the last years of his life, he was an alcoholic. He was taken to hospital because of pneumonia. When the doctors took him off his booze, this abrupt withdrawal caused Delirium tremens and hastened his death.
Name the writer!

Odar calling; a writer who died tragically? I guess that narrows it down to all of them.

No autocorrect to blame there, 'twas a loosely phonetically based new nickname derived from the first two letters of your forum name. No distress nor confusion sought.
