Maybe he uses his phone. Less conspicuous than a laptop.
I feel like we're having an affair with him.

As you were, I should guess a greenhouse to prevent all this tittle tattle about my movements.
I like to think of myself as the David Gower of this forum.

Aha!
No not a greenhouse. But you are getting warmer with your interpretation of the getting warmer clue, if indeed that is what you have done.

Remember; I said I was getting a quote for something costing >£5k and that this expense (>£500) was involved in that.
I have a garage.

It is likely to cost more than £500.

It is a more general stipulation.

Not a hot tub, a conservatory, a greenhouse or a garage.
The preliminary cost is >£500, the actual cost of the item around £5,000.

The £500 is not a preliminary but a subsidiary cost.
Not a ground source heat pump. Much more straightforward.
Getting warmer.

Job costing >£5k: turning the detached garage into a garden office, dry lining and insulating, replacing doors and windows.
Item costing >£500: multi-fuel burning stove, DEFRA-approved for smokeless fuel zone.
Near enough.
Derek's turn.

86: Owen
280: Daniel
300: Glenn
376: Derek
Current gap is 320 with 1 hour and 10 minutes to play.
