Thanks for the update, and for providing an adoptable bottle Tom.
I'll now be bringing Rebello Valente 1966.
I'd also like to bring my wife (non-drinker), that she won't have to spend the night & dinner alone in a foreign city. Would that be acceptable>

All week she has been trying to shake you off, to have a party evening without the husband. Foiled again!

Bung Hole called; 120 glasses booked.

Christopher: splendid. Tom has an Offley available, so I'll add you for that. But you please ask him directly. And thank you for the Niepoort Crusted (when bottled?).

Twelve bottles, eleven people: more glasses needed. I'm in a basement without phone reception: please somebody call to up the request to 150.

Also, CMAG wants a guest. I will phone the Bung Hole Tuesday morning to ask for extra glasses. If that doesn’t work then, well, then something.

Just talked to Dirk and his son Daniel, they would like to come, too and bring Constantino and NIepoort.

Is there space enough to host 14?

Thanks again, Julian

There is much pouring to be done in a small space. Obviously that would be more difficult if most bottles arrive after 6pm. Please can bottles arrive earlier—meaning your bottles, not just everybody else’s.

For various reasons to do with logistics, my Taylor will be arriving decanted but it and I will not be arriving much before 6:30pm.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

Tom is bringing my Graham 66, but I have a work dinner starting at 7 which I will be ducking out of at the earliest opportunity. So should be with you all by 9 at the latest. I can help pour at 4.30 if that helps? And can print if that also helps.

Given how this tasting has mushroomed perhaps the word 'small' should be dropped from the title of this thread! Oh, and good spot Wolfgang, yes indeed,I did mean F66 ! Not to impact placemats but I'll probably bring that bottle of Sousa 66 colheita (bottled in 92) as well (to make'up for the fact that other chap couldn't,t make it).

Thought the same, but only the replacement to "Modest 1966 Horizontal on 22 of April" came to mind. But this word play can result in a dangerous mine field especially when DRT or JDAW have caught the "completness bug". Have a look e.g. at the sizeable Malvedos vertical.

Following the above discussion, the central header of the placemats has been changed to “1966: A Small Horizontal (the adjective being disputed by people of little ambition)”. Does that fairly capture the sense of the discussion?

In view of number of people:

- is it worth 2 flights of 7 ports with second flight being poured by a couple of volunteers while others eat? Or fitting the fourteen 66 VPs onto 1 A3 sheet?

- asking TBH to put the air conditioning on to full? (will also help if ports will sit in glass for a long time, but 14 people produce a lot of heat in that room)

Axel and WS1's ports have been standing at my flat for a couple of weeks and can be delivered with my bottle to Bunghole at some point between 4.00 and 6.00 (earlier to the extent possible).

If anyone is passing by BBR at any point in the day, let me know as there is a nice magnum of champagne there initially intended for the Doty cup but which could be used as an aperitif here.

Having updated the placemats, and all the graphic files and TN threads, I have just realised that I haven’t changed the centre header from DRT’s excellent suggestion. Axel’s idea, also excellent, can be saved for another day.
