No so far. A clue: it's the capital of a small country.

Yes, it's Copenhagen. My next guess would have been that people in this country are officially fond of Warre's.
On new year's eve, the Danes go completely crazy and throw firecrackers around like mad. The Danish Post seals all postboxes with bolts in Copenhagen two days before new year's eve because people would trow firecrackers inside.
Flash, it's your turn now, again.

Yes, it was Champagne. I could drag it out looking for the producer, but I would end up likely needing to give a clue which would then make it relatively easy! Your turn Julian.

This weekend just gone I attended a wedding in New York, the first gay wedding that I have attended. Immediately after the formalities were done I said to some people that “it is not only my first gay wedding, it is also my first X wedding” (the “X” applying adjectivally to the wedding). Everybody to whom I said this said that it was also their first X wedding.

What was X?

None of these.
LGTrotter wrote:Open air wedding?
Though it was the first open-air wedding that I had attended, some others might well have attended a wedding of this type. So no.
CaliforniaBrad wrote:First day of summer/solstice wedding?
Was it? Maybe. But not the answer?

It might help to focus on the officiating minister (who, separately, admitted to having been on rum+something for six hours), but not on his religion nor like status.

You were all in swimwear, it was in a pool?

Nothing to do with attire or lack thereof. Focus on the officiating minister, not on me, not on the audience.

A term which suggests a pregnancy. This is unlikely in a ♂-♂ wedding.

Yes. At weddings that I have previously attended the authority read from a book, or perhaps paper. Never before had I seen it done from an iPad. The Dog’s question.

We live in strange and terrible times.

I heard a birdsong a few evenings back which I don't seem to hear that often anymore.

What was the bird?
