I picked this up fro Oddbins for £10.99. It is the first wine I have had from Ribera del Duero, the Spanish end of what we call the Douro Valley.
Deep garnet red with nice thick tears in the glass. A slightly gassy smell which I associate with very young, big red wines - typical of young Auzzie Shiraz. Incredibly smooth and thick in the mouth. Nice black fruits and a bucketfull of chocolate.
This isn't as good as some of the Douro reds I have had recently but it is a very, very nice wine that is far too easy to drink for a 14% 2006.
I bought this with the intention of making the bottle last 3 nights. Hmmmm
