NV Porto dos Santos White Reserve

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

NV Porto dos Santos White Reserve. Open 2 days. A dark golden colour, 20% opaque. Soft, sweet tropical fruit faint on the nose. The fruit is much more obvious on the palate, with just a little tannin holding the sweetness in check. The fruit is a little subdued on the aftertaste, but settles in with an icing sugar sweetness and a metallic taint on the finish. A bit too sweet and slightly lacking in acidity to be great, but a decent everyday White Port. 85/100. Drunk 26-Jan-2025.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: DR Very Old White, Graham Stone Terraces 2011, Quevedo Branco 1986 b.2026
