1966 Fonseca, a dark brick-red colour, 60% opaque. A little hollow on the nose showing just a little bit of candied raspberry. Sawdust and redcurrant on the palate, a little disjointed and candied with the wine suggesting the Port might be shutting down or emerging from shutdown. But despite that, this is a lovely wine showing delicious redcurrant and red liquorice. Rather nice, but will benefit from more time in the cellar to continue to mature. Very lovely. 93/100.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: DR Very Old White, Graham Stone Terraces 2011, Quevedo Branco 1986 b.2026
