Port Wein Messe Leverkusen

Post by JohnDavidFrance »

I've been a bit absent from the forum the last few months but it doesn't mean i've not been busy. I thought i'd see if anyone here is attending the Port Wein Messe in Leverkusen this month? I'll be there, travelling from the UK. Axel Probst is the host and has held many successful events previously but this will be my first one and i'll be sure to write up an article about my experience. I'm very excited, the tasting list is nothing short of epic and the guest speaker is David Guimaraens! Tickets are very reasonable at 40 euros, i'll post the link below.

Meantime, drink well friends and i'll update soon.

Bon Voyage! Axel's Portweinmesse is on my list of events to attend but it's at such a busy time of year for me.

And please do write up your visit. I love reading the stories that people post.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

I really do want to attend one year, particularly as I have family near Koln who I would visit, but this year is not that year, with my studies I suspect it might have to wait for a few years.

I’m really glad this event is being held close to home, I attend every year.

I won’t be able to make the Thursday dinner (the night before the mezze), so if any TPF member doesn’t have dinner plans for the 27th and would like to join me for a "late" dinner, feel free to send me a message.

(looking at Düsseldorf or Leverkusen, sometime around 20:00).

I would have joined you gladly, however, my ryanscare flight only gets in at around 9pm  so it will be taxi and bed for me ready for the days events.

Axel has very kindly allowed me access to the press side of the event, so I will certainly be writing up my experience. I did ask Roy if he wanted the story for FTLOP so it might appear there first as I know he can't make it
