Hello from another Port Wine Geek

Post by Prtwine »

Hi Guys,

I've been active on the platform since 2013 under another name and wanted to re-introduce myself - Ruud Scholten - as a fellow portwine lover and enthusiast.

As I previously ran a specialized port wine e-commerce company in The Netherlands, my love for port wine has never been anything less then huge!
Currently I've tried to help other port wine enthusiast by creating a new platform called prt.wine and is a website about all the brands of port wines.
I haven't finished it yet, but am trying to :) If you see any brands there still missing, please do comment or send me a message. Happy to look into it and put it on the list (I still have a list of around 80 brands that still need to be added).

My cellar holds a lovely collection of Fonseca 2011 vintages as well as some tasty Quinta de Vesuvio 2006 vintages, Kopke 2003 vintages and others.

My best!

Hi Ruud,

Thanks for pointing us towards your website. It's useful to know of somewhere which collects all this data in one place!

Thanks Alex and happy to become more active here than I was in the past 11 years lol.

I know this is offtopic here but do you guys ever discuss portwine cocktails?

There are one or two threads where we talk about Port cocktails, but always happy to have a new thread started if you want to talk about them.

Hello and welcome, seemingly again. Just so that we can tie things together, under what name?

I entered here under the name of Vinhodoporto, currently run by my old partner - Jasper.
I was the co-owner of www.vinhodoporto.nl from 2013-2016. I believe that account is now used by Jasper.
