Decanted at 12.30. Will be returned to the bottle about 15.00.

Pale rim. A hint of balsamic. Still some tannins. Sweet and delicious.

G55: decanted noon. Glorious red, 40% opaque. Black pepper, smoke, spice, string sweetness, and some heat. Excellent Port, but in this company, not in the top rank.

Graham 1955, bottled 1957 in the UK by an unknown merchant. Fabulous on the nose, lively and full of spiced and complex dried fruit. The richness and complexity hinted at by the nose is also delivered on the palate. The aftertaste is stunning, an explosion of fruit just like bringing a newly baked rich fruit cake from the oven - but Graham 1955 also has some gentle cocoa tannins showing on the finish. 95/100 and my joint top wine of the night (along with the 1945). Tasted 14-May-2024. Decanted at 12.30 and allowed to sit in the decanter until 15.00 when it was returned to the bottle to be taken to the tasting. Poured into glasses at 17.00 and tasted at 18.00.

G55. Light red and ruby. Faint stinkiness on the nose with layers of dried red fruits. It still has some faint tannins to round out a pleasant palate that shows baked pie - apple and blackberry together? 93 points.
