1995 Delaforce LBV

Post by nac »

A lone bottle purchased in September 2020 from BidForWine for £1 (+postage).

Opened and double-decanted at 0800 on the morning of the Aged LBVs tasting.

T-stopper cork which was in pretty good condition. Fair amount of sediment and good colour.

Back label said "bottled 2001".

QA sample OK.

Minty brambles and damp hedgerow, very dry. By the end of the night became a muggy but pleasant drink, the brooding closed fruit showing itself a little more. Good heft to the palate.

Df95 LBV. dark dark dark red, 80% opaque. Nose harmless. Palate intensely dry, of green grass. Just not right.

Inky black. Nose quite pruney. Big thick port of the 'portuguese' variety. Cloves.
