1970 Delaforce

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Decanted 11.00, drunk at 19.30. Mature rose red in colour, 30% opaque. Very little showing on the nose, but a swirl releases some red berry and red cinnamon, which develops nicely. Sweet and honeyed on the palate with plenty of fruit but a little light in body. A nice freshness on the aftertaste; a lovely savoury / meaty finish of great length. 89/100. Drunk 07-Feb-23 at the TPF Awards. Decanted 8½ hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

Df70. glorious red, 40% opaque. Big red fruit, hint of grit, late-palate heat. Lovely and fresh.

45% opacity, red, slightly cloudy. Soft redcurrants on the nose. Soft and round, very mild heat, chewy sweet redcurrants.
