2003 Quevedo Colheita (bottled 2022)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled in 2022 for the advent calendar. Matured in cask. Deep red with a touch of brick in the tone and a medium rim. A lovely rich fruit nose, mulberry jelly, enticing. Balanced entry, plentiful fruit with powerful acidity concentrating the senses. Tannins show at first, but disappear quickly into the dried fruit. Delicious black mulberry on the palate, dark chocolate and a long fruity black liquorice finish. Big and luscious, a lovely wine.
90/100. Tasted 29-Jan-23. Decanted 1 hour.
Top Ports in 2022: Quinta do Noval Nacional 1931. I have never drunk such a wonderful bottle of Port. I cried with joy.

2023: Fonseca 1966. There are not many better Ports.
