2004 Croft LBV

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Croft 2004, bottled in halves in 2009.

Initially (at D+0) a little harsh and bitter. The flavours resolved themselves after 30 minutes in the glass to become sweet, red and black cherry with a touch of honey. Nicely structured with good acidity and tannins now fully integrated. Simple, straightforward and very pleasant. 88/100. Drunk 04-Jan-23.
Top Ports in 2022: Quinta do Noval Nacional 1931. I have never drunk such a wonderful bottle of Port. I cried with joy.

2023: Fonseca 1966. There are not many better Ports.
