1922 Croft
Mature red colour, 40% opaque. Gentle on the nose with soft red cherry and a lovely pine-needle freshness. Smooth on the palate, full of fruit with dried cherries and a dark chocolate finish, rich and long. A lovely - no, a wonderful - rich and mature Vintage Port; Vintage Port the way it should be. My second placed wine of the night. 96/100. Consumed 15-Dec-22. Decanted 2½ hours.
Top Ports in 2022: Quinta do Noval Nacional 1931. I have never drunk such a wonderful bottle of Port. I cried with joy.
2023: Fonseca 1966. There are not many better Ports.
