1994 Warre

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Library Release. A lovely brick red colour, 90% opaque. Lively nose, dusty cherry and ripe raspberry. The nose is just delicious and difficult to stop smelling. Archetypal Warre elegance on the entry, such a beautiful balance. The fruit has evolved to show a little spice but it is the aftertaste where the wine truly expresses itself. An explosion of fruit and acidity on the aftertaste, before an absolutely wonderful long finish of spiced redcurrant jelly. This is a fabulous bottle of a very good wine. 95/100. Drunk 01-Dec-22 at Berry Brother's replacement for the Port Walk.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
