1968 Andresen Colheita (bottled 2022)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

A cask sample drawn about 6 hours before being tasted.

Andresen 1968 cask sample: the wine comes from the Pesqueira area, between Vale Dona Maria and Vallado. Molasses and honey nose with some vinagrinho. Balanced, lighter and fresh on the palate. Nice rose hip and redcurrant jelly with a touch of spearmint. Clean aftertaste, wonderfully dry with honey and tannins and generous grapefruit oil. A very elegant structure without sacrificing any intensity of flavour or structure. 95/100. Tasted 14-Oct-22.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
