1967 Cockburn

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Joanna label bottling. Opened at 07.30, decanted at 13.30 and drunk at 19.50.

A light golden-toned red colour, 30% opaque. A very soft nose, very restrained and slightly unpleasant. Light entry, showing little other than some soft brown sugar and a hint of oranges. The late palate has a nice dryness to it before the sweet candied finish takes over. The wine lacked balance and did not show well at first but showed better with air. Sadly it is starting to dry out. 89/100. Tasted 25-Jul-22.
