OK - will leave you on the reserve list.

Thank you. Am hoping to be able to make it, though some family issues are making next week impossible, so we shall see (if I am able to make it, I might be able to bring a CrR97 - if I still have it, I'm not sure - which is perhaps conspicuous by it's absence currently)

If you can make it and can't find the CrR97 let me know. I have a bottle of Quinta de Vale da Figueira 1997 that I'd love to have a reason to open and share. You could adopt it from me.

I'll be finalising the bottles/suppliers tomorrow & advising of any adoptions and team costs. Will also do the food order.

Anyone fancy a bottle of 44yr old beer as a warm up?

An auction lot I picked up yesterday included 23 bottles of Burton centenary ale, a numbered limited edition bottled by Bass Charrington in 1978. I didn't price them at all but still won the lot..

Popped one last night and found it still in very good order, slightly sweet and malty, with a good head - curiously, it doesn't give the alcohol strength (and also pre-dated best before dating..)

Am now looking likely (fingers crossed) to be able to make this next week; please upgrade me to attendee. I haven't yet checked for the existence of the CrR97, but will do so (or adopt Alex's Vale da Figueira) if it might be wanted.

Ok - have checked, and I do have the CrR97 available if wanted (or happy to adopt, chip in, or whatever is preferred).

Right, as we're back to full numbers, it's 18 bottles again!

The line-up is:
  1. Taylor - NAC for Team adoption
  2. Fonseca - NAC for Team adoption
  3. Quarles Harris - NAC for Team adoption
  4. Warre - NAC
  5. Martinez - AHB
  6. Vale Donna Maria - GEAG
  7. Sandeman Vau - MPW adopting from WillW
  8. Ramos Pinto - JDAW
  9. Smith Woodhouse - TC
  10. Vesuvio - CPR
  11. Gould Campbell - IDJ
  12. Dow - RichN
  13. Noval - THRA for Team adoption
  14. Noval Silval - THRA
  15. Burmester - WillW
  16. Graham - HTWH
  17. Croft Roeda - PhilW
  18. Vale da Figueira - ZakR adopting from AHB
Hopefully this is OK with everyone? Let me know if any problems.

I've taken the view that the bottles are largely similarly priced (a nominal £40) so the only additional costs will be the Team adoption bottles which is coming out at <£20 per head.

JDAW - can you please revisit paperwork? I'll do the printing.

I'm not going to do food pre-orders. It seemed to work OK this week, and we also got the benefit of the specials, so ordering on the night.

Somebody please carefully check the placemats: people, bottles, who is brining which. Also, added to first post.

Agreed. But being decent is part of the deal we have with the B&F. I’ll organise food. People: pls post, perhaps having referred to the menu (soup of day will be Leek and Potato). Mike — yes, agreed. Current draft of the food order.

Decant timing? As far as possible, let’s be consistent. Twelve or twenty-four hours?

I was going to to mine the night before, so 24hrs sounds reasonable.

Please may I have the melon and Parma ham to start, a medium rare sirloin with fries and chocolate brownie to finish. Thanks for organising, Julian.

There are a couple of attendees who are strong maybe/likely. If either (or someone else) drops out I'll let you know.

Hi, been travelling abroad, sorry for missing your messages. Wonderful as it sounds, I regret I am no longer able to make it to this tasting.
My fault: the placemats still had ’Dia as attending. Who is (or might be) her replacement?
