NV Churchill Tawny 20YO

Post by rich_n »

PnP - Certainly a spicy tawny, this leads with pepperiness to the fore. Caramel, apple and a citrus acidity to keep the sweetness in check. Not entirely sure what to make of the nose, it is quite muted. This coats the mouth nicely and there's a good finish. I'm not totally convinced as there is an odd note I can't put my finger on but it's pretty good. This is one of the better 20YO tawnies I've tried.

Sometimes it's worth experimenting with allowing the wine to warm a little to see if the nose becomes better developed. Sometimes.
