2000 Croft

Warm red colour, starting to develop some maturity to the tone. Attractive nose of sweet fruit and cedar, inviting. Balanced fruit, generous acidity, cherry and a powerful menthol giving considerable heat. Lots of eucalyptus on the palate but staying elegant. Slightly fiery aftertaste, long aniseed finish. Very warming, cedar and blackthorn finish with the tannins only showing up at the end of the finish. Lovely. 90/100. Decanted 31-Mar-22.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
