My plan was to decant the F85 the previous day, and the W85 in the morning. Objections?

That has been my recent (the last two years) experience as well. One recent bottle, decanted for 8 hours, still continued to improve over the course of the evening.

I think I will make a general plea for decanting the morning of the tasting please; earlier if providers prefer.

I'll be eating at work (hospitality) so haven't placed an advance food order. Am assuming we'll be able to order food on the night should additional ballast be required . I'll stand up the OBV plus two back ups tomorrow then open and double decant a single bottle on the morning.

Current draft of the placemats.

As we are on the home stretch, please could somebody re-check the placemats. Pls use ⌘⌥⌃⇧-everything-R, to force a cache-defeating reload.

Food order for Julian2 is soup followed by sausage & mash (large) and a side of green beans.

@GEAG - Can this be added to the order or do you want me to let B&F know?

I've left the Pocas Jr and RP85 at the B+F. Evidently, there are a handful of bottles likewise there and the lot will be decanted tomorrow morning at some point.

Fonseca 1985 double decanted. Nose somewhat closed — long decant good — but with definite plums and mass.

Bottle bag has an F85. It has an M16 bolt for Zak. It will have a W85. Is there anything else that I’m meant not to forget, that I have, err, forgotten?

@nac - I may not be there until 1815 as a client meeting at 1400 has been changed to 1600 - if you were able to start pouring that would be much appreciated.

Printing already done, so we'll have to use the spare set.

Sorry to have to report that I have succumbed to a very minor (and I mean minor) case of covid and although the line is now faint, I am still returning a positive test. Therefore, in line with guidelines, as opposed to requirements, I will reluctantly have to withdraw from tonight’s tasting.

On the positive side I now expect there to be issues with assisting at the BFT next week!

@idj123 - Sorry to hear you will not be with us, but the right decision. I am pleased to hear that Covid is not causing you major health issues though.

Check your diary and/or the date Ian, the BFT is still two weeks away.
Hope your "minor" ailment goes away quickly and without further issue for yourself or family.

Noval 85 double decanted approx 1730 last night.
Bottle in perfect condition but cork pretty much disintegrated - partly due to unavailability of satisfactory extraction tools.
QA sample all good.
