1960 Sandeman

Post by winesecretary »

Middling but bright red.

Very spicy palate, otherwise dominated by cranberry.

The second of two bottles of this wine consumed on this evening, and very different from the first (which I infer was from the same case). This bottle seemed barely ready! One for a long decant perhaps.

Consumed 16/12/21

40% opacity, mature red. Dusty cranberries and figs on the nose. Wonderful cranberry fruit, still young (!), dry with tannins.

A bunch of people got together at The White Horse Inn, Saffron Walden, for our traditional pre-Christmas get-together.
