Mature bronze colour, 30% opaque. Gentle strawberry jam and brown sugar nose, some floral tones. Mature fruit palate, soft jammy strawberry with sufficient acidity to keep the palate fresh and clean. A little bitter aniseed on the aftertaste and strong spearmint on the finish, which fades to a slightly bitter burnt strawberry jam (the kind I love to scrape off the tray when I bake jam tarts!). Soft, gentle and perfectly mature, just in my sweet spot. 88/100. 07-Oct-21. Decanted 4 hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
