The first of two bottles acquired from the Berry Bros & Rudd broking list in March 2020.

Double decanted and VacuVined at 1900/1930 on the evening before the tasting. QA sample was good.

Red rim.

Nose is a bit 'off'.

Palate a bit hot.

Not sure this bottle is right.

70% opacity, dark red. Dark fruit on the nose. Rich and dry in the mouth, tannin hovering in the background. Dark fruit - plum and dark cherries. Just a little un-integrated.

Very perfumed nose. Short in the mouth. A little all over the spot.

Decanted at 19.00 the night before the tasting, returned to the bottle and sealed with a Vacu-Vin stopper. Drunk at 20.30 the following day.

A lovely nose of black cherry and red fruit, very big and pronounced. Balanced entry with the fruit dominating, in a young and quite primary phase. The palate is delicious, big, rich and very young with the tannins being mostly swamped by the fruit. Primary fruit drives the aftertaste and leads to a fruit and dark chocolate finish of good length. 89/100. 16-Nov-21. Decanted 1 day.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
