2007 Warre LBV (unfiltered)

Post by nac »

Bottle popped (has proper driven cork) and poured on 4th December 2021, a glass drunk and then the remains Vac-u-Vined.
Note taken the next day at +24 hours.

Very deep - almost 100% - with no discernible browning at the rim.
Nose quite muted. What there is, is some dark primary fruit. No secondary characteristics at all.
In the mouth, a lot of mouth puckering tannin, although it’s quite soft.
All very much in balance with lots of dark fruit and possibly a bit of chocolate.

Quite nice, very drinkable but not at all close to being ready and obviously no rush to drink.
4/7, but potentially a 5/7 (or maybe more) with some additional bottle age.

I have a case of this. Haven't tried it yet, guess I'll leave it alone for a few more years.

This is a lovely drop and if, like me, your budget suits this type then I think you’d struggle to get a similar unfiltered LBV better than this.
