No, Noval missed the boat on declaring 1977 and declared 1978 instead. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose when guessing what would be the better vintage...they lost on that decision.
I remember reading somewhere that Noval completely screwed up with the 1977 harvest. It had something to with over-fertilisation or diseases. Don't remember exactly, and I can't find it in my books at the moment. I will do a better search tonight when I've more time.
