Think of it as an inclusive ranking system, ahead of its time perhaps.

The future when a Cruz tawny is preferable over a Niepoort LBV is, perhaps, not one I wish to experience!

Had that been the case, there would have been many more changes and they would have been of much higher quality.

As it stands, it is woefully lacking in 100-pt Ports as rated by me. Also 99-pt Ports.

You say that, but I think we might have been suspicious if, say the Fonseca 1963 was suddenly replaced with a Quinta do Obscura 20 year old white

You can be absolutely certain that some bottle of Quinta da Revolta, which actually exists, would have made the list.

I do note that the list does contain a single 98-pt Port, as rated by me: 1927 Niepoort. Sadly the list contains neither the 2017 Niepoort nor the 1863 Niepoort (technically a Garrafeira) which also received 98-pt ratings from me at the same tasting.

I too thought the N2017 was fantastic when I tasted. It impressed me enough for me to buy a case, which I pretty much never do.

I have seen bottles of Quinta da Revolta for sale but I am boycotting it on the basis that I can no longer make up joke names for Quintas since that would the obvious one...

I have bought a dozen of the Revolta LBV. It was OK.
