Black holes and Gravitational waves

Post by Doggett »

If anyone would like to learn more about Julian's wonderful presentation at the Doty cup... The BBC have kindly put together a programme featuring his old lecturer to explain all what they can.

That was rubbish. First, it omitted the Loeb hypothesis (which is correct). Second, some of the graphics were incorrectly dramatised. Third, both presenters had bad hair.

Scientific evidence suggests that the best thing that could happen to the current incarnation of that particular television series is that is should be sucked into a black hole.

Is that Loeb as in OW Loeb (wine merchants) who bottled some particularly fine ports in the first half of the 20th century?
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
