1963 Quinta do Noval

Post by winesecretary »

A rich mature red.

Lovely red-fruited nose.

Palate: still red-fruited. Bakewell tart!

A delicious bottle of this sometimes variable port.

Unknown UK bottler.

Consumed 31/8/21

Mature red in colour, rich and mahogany brown; 60% opaque. Very pleasant nose, mature, lots of red fruit, a touch of tobacco. Nice balance to the palate, a little heat in the sweet fruit giving a bit of fire to the tongue. Mid-weight, gentle and balanced. Lovely sweet dried red fruit finish with a touch of pepper. Lovely, but not great. 88/100. Drunk 31-Aug-21. Decanted 10 hours.
