Mz45. red-orange, 20% opaque. Nose dry with a touch of spearmint. Palate huge, soft raspberries, very long adn gentle and fully mature and did I mention raspberries? and just wonderful. My WOTN, but the team preferred the T45.

Orange. Nose of highest quality cardboard (not a criticism) at first but it unfurled. Lighter port. Fully mature. Raspberries. Violets, later. Very good but a notch below a bottle I had about 10 years ago.

Martinez 1945, opened at 08.30, decanted at 14.15 and tasted at 20.30. Less opaque than the Fr45, less showing on the nose. Gentle nose, a little mature fruit. Soft on the palate, mature dried fruit, sweet sultanas and cranberries. Lovely balance, soft and gentle. The aftertaste and finish are delicious, full of sweet red liquorice. Lovely. 90/100.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

30% opacity, copper-amber. Caramel and some grapefruit on the nose. Crisp, citric hints - grapefruit. Lovely balance.
