NV Fonseca Tawny 20YO (bottled 2019)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Fonseca 20YO tawny bottled 2019: deep amber colour, 50% opaque. Orange caramel nose, strong and well developed. Generous acidity and plenty of orange oil on the palate. A nice overlay of caramel giving a sense of sweetness but never out of balance with the acidity. Lovely rich mouthfeel and intensity of flavour to the aftertaste and long burnt orange finish. Much more enjoyable than I was expecting! 89/100. Opened 10-Apr-21.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
