NV Fletcher Tawny 40YO (bottled 2020)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

The last of six bottles purchased at Aldi in November 2020. A lovely deep chestnut brown in colour. Powerful lavender furniture polish on the nose. Nice thick texture on entry, beeswax and dates on the palate. Floral tones mix in with the powerful acidity. A lovely big aftertaste and lingering finish of espresso coffee. Big Port, powerful and tasty but without a lot of finesse. 89/100. Drunk 12-Jan-21. Pop 'n' pour.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
