I didn’t attend the tasting, but I am very interested to read about the 1970 becoming less reliable / showing old age / losing fruit. 50% opacity, dark brown, yellow rim. Macademia and walnut nose. Huge saliva-inducing citrus burst on entry, walnuts.

45% opacity, brown-orange. Nuts, oak and vanilla on the nose. Starts soft and builds into a huge citrus burst, great sweetness.

40% opacity, amber orange. Almond and vanilla on the nose. More youthful than others tasted in this session, citric notes, tropical fruits, finish a little shorter.

45% opacity, brown-orange. Fresh and open nose, concentrated apricot and brown sugar. Huge burst of lovely unripe apricot on the palate, full and syrupy. Liked.

40% opacity, brown-orange, amber rim. Almond and butterscotch on the nose. Fresh and lively, seville oranges, good length, nicely balanced acidity.
