Jerez

Visiting Jerez for the first time in late March (for a couple of nights). Anyone got any suggestions for hotels, restaurants and bodegas (including sherry tastings ofc)? Anything that is a ‘must do’?

Probably should have adopted similar timing if the very immature colour of the GM is anything to go by. I double decanted at lunchtime. However, we shall see. Usual eta-around 6ish.

I don’t have either of these but could I not just bring the GM that I have sourced or has Neil’s bottle of the same already been adopted? For ease, can I suggest...

Like 99% of the 1970s, it’s very good, moreover it can be picked up at the cheaper end of the scale perhaps £40-£50 a bottle and that’s principally the reason I have so many bottles of it – it’s sometimes too much of a bargain to pass on! Have values dropped again? I was looking regularly last year...

I’m probably being somewhat restrictive but for me the best of the 90s would consist of T 92 and F 92 with the rest of the lineup being made up of 94s! However, in the interests of a tasting a wider distribution is perhaps best.

Might have a few others to hand but so far have espied G and Ni. Although clearly a risk I would love to open the latter; it’s the oldest bought bottle in my collection dating back to c2003 when bought from a wine shop on the road just up from the quayside on the Porto shore.
