Re: A glass of port with DrDirk

I am in. I just put two bottles of vintage port near my baggage for London. The rounded mean value of the vintages will apply with the theme: (1960 + 1991) / 2 = 1975,5 rounded eigthies. Yes! Both bottles come from the same producer: one is an emergency bottle, one a recently aquired bottle of a lot...

At 18:20 I entered for the first time the Bunghole. Following my nose I easily found the table with all the glasses filled with port. First I could not believe my eye: all ports (exept one) in a perfect condition concering the colour of the ports. This will be fun - and it was great fun. Thank you v...

Saturday March 24th in London

Hi all, I will be in London on Saturday March 24th. Is there anyone who wants to join in tasting, drinking and enjoying some port even if it is a Saturday? I suggest somewhere in the city. @Rob: I think Henley-on-Thames is not possible for me, because it will take some time to get there and back wit...

A very nice evening in The Crusting Pipe with excellent 1977s vintage ports. It was the perfect time to open some of these bottles to see how far the developement is. Some bottles need more time (e.g. Niepoort, Taylor) and other are now very drinkable and start to fade after some hours in the glass ...
