There is a 1981 Port from Barros. I would assume it's a Colheita. Maybe you are interested in that offer and you would like to check it out. I do not have any experience with that shop.

Re: No passionate Whisky thread here?
All my SM had been gone so I had to order fresh supply. Two bottles to start. It is Ardbeg TEN (1l) and Ardbeg Uigeadail. Although there is not little hype about Ardbeg I am looking very foward to these bottles. Another one in focus is Highland Park 18 years I could purchase at reasonable 48 EUR. I ...

Tom, although I disagree with most of your point of view in this case your post is very interesting as it catches some of the leading points in that matter. Thanks for that. I had a bottle (barrel sample) of 2007 Niepoort Pisca VP in early March over a period of 4 days. To my taste it was amongst the best VPs from 2007. No formal notes were taken. I remember 1997 Cálem VP as deeply dark in colour, bulky ripe nose, full-bodied, ripe dark fruits as dried damson, very spicy, cigar box. It was a pop & pour situation. It began beautifully to open after 2 hours and was drinking well after 24 hours. It was put on my b...

I don't buy these negative theories of the both of you. I've been following Suckling's tasting notes for some 10 years now and find them thoroughly reliable. Glen, you simply have to come across that little water, visit Germany, have some Port with me and take an owc/6 from my cellar at the price I paid- very nice wooden cases though.
I agree on your estimation. One of the best VP from 2007 I tasted so far. For nearly a song. One to stock up.

What was the decanting time for the Morgadio? To my taste it blossomed out only after 48 hours. I agree lusty acidity. Tannins more rustic than those of Niepoort VP and Niepoort Pisca VP but nevertheless quite impressive on day 3. I found the scoring of 90 from Miller to be too defensive.

Mark, I have from 1996 Sandeman Vau Vintage Port which needs a lot of air. Even after 72 hours it was in a decent condition. Due to the vintage certainly not a blockbuster at all but a focus and depth one can find on the Ruby site only in a VP. Perhaps the FG will reward patience too.
