dark tawnyish color. Very complex in nose and taste. Very long finish but most impressive of this port is its variable flavors and nuances. A little bit balsamic in texture with honey and lots of spices. Brilliant port!

black brown color, excellent balance of sweetness, acidity, taste and finish. Taste after figs and nuts and lingers for very long on the palate. Fantastic port which was for me only marginally behind the 1863, 1896 and 1882.

dark tawnyish color. Still very dark! Dark dried fruits, rasiny taste. Copy of Alex note of star anise and golden syrup. Compared to the other ports tasted that evening a bit flat. Still an excellent port but lacks a bit complexity and panache in the context.

Fantastic Colheita with immense complexity. On tasting these amazing ports this had for me the best complexity. Color was blackish brown and you could detect a small rim. For me this 1863 Colheita was the star of the evening. On the already perfect and extremely concentrated 1896 this was another level up in concentration, sweetness and boldness. I could barely detect a rim and it had as well this blackish color with brown reflexes. Despite being nearly 40 years olde...

wonderful port that reminded me of vintage port despite it being a Colheita. Massively sweet for its age and the concentration is extreme. Very thin rim if at all. Color is blackish with minor brown reflexes. Flavors I detected a bit of dark cherry, elderberry and figs. Sirupy in texture and the fin...
