I have heard back from Rita, and she has provided me with tech sheets for all 3 of their new brands, each with a different identity. Já Foste is the "lighter, more casual brand with a younger and more fun image" and its Ports >10 years old are sold in 200 ml and 50 ml bottles. (Those of 10...

Re: Heating Port Tongs
MAP gas is my go-to, but even that takes to long for me. That might be because the MAP-Pro you can get today is not the same thing as the old MAPP gas. The old stuff burned at over 5,000 degrees F. MAP-Pro burns only slightly hotter than propane or natural gas. (3,700 degrees F.) So if you're used ...

Never a firelighter! Modern firelighters, e.g. e.g. , seem — this new learning amazes me — to be made of wood and wool and no chemicals. I’m not sure why. It is still its own Quinta being bottled under its own Quinta name. We don’t call Fonseca, TF, just because it’s owned by Taylor’s. This was going to be my question; our abbreviations basically reflect label branding; if the label is still "Quinta do Passadouro" (now bot...

I think that further releases under the Passadouro name should use something like NP or NPs, but that existing Ports should keep their pre-integration nomenclature. (I.e. what Julian said.)
I suggest NPs so that the relationship to Ps is clearer.

Sadly, I am unable to attend. My gateway Port was literally the first Port that I ever tasted - a Porto Rocha 20 Year Old Tawny Port. It was given to me for my 40th birthday in 2004, by one of my several friends who had been trying for years to find something that I liked to drink. Other than "...

Like Andy, I've tasted The Stone Terraces head-to-head with Graham every time GST has been released. And I have not noticed any drop-off in quality of the regular Graham. Re: Roast pork & crackling paired with vintage port?
I agree with George - something nicely mature, but not yet old. You could also try something younger that is on the drier side for VP. If there is sufficient salt on the roast pork and cracklings, then a sweeter VP does also work. I need the meat to be on the saltier side if I'm going to pair it wit...

Interesting that none of the top 4 Ports received votes from more than 5 people, and the next 3 only received votes from 3, 5, and 4 people. When would these typically get released into the market? Summer? Fall? If past experience holds true, it will be close to another year before we see them in the US. I opened a 2011 Capela in July of 2025 and it was not corked. It was out-classed by the regular 2011 Vesuvio opened with it, though. My scores were 93+ and 95 respectively.
This was for Port Club, so there were plenty of people present who could have detected TCA had it been a bad bottle.

Yeah, that's roughly $34/bottle for the Skeffington. That's a great price in any vintage, but in a vintage that's shaping up to be a true classic? Amazing. That's a pretty crazy low price for the Sentinels, too. I know it's not meant to compete with Nacional or even Stone Terraces, but £204 per 6 is...

Yes, the cover itself would be more-or-less a fixed cost, but it should be captured by doing a weighted average.
