This was JDAW’s thoughts on the wine:
G66, d+5½h. Glorious red, 40% opaque. Nose of mature Port, with a hint of dark plum. Palate soft and full and lovely; coffee early; slight heat mid-palate; start to finish is an unctuous large fully mature Port. Really good.

Re: 2016 Quinta da Corte LBV
It is the same Quinta da Corte as was owned by Delaforce. I’m writing this from memory so please check independently, but I believe around 2000 Delaforce and Quinta da Corte were owned by the Fladgate partnership. At some point the Delaforce brand was sold to Royal Oporto, who used (and may still be...

Re: TPF awards ceremony
Yes please, put me down for a place.
How about a category of “most prolific organiser”?
Or “best venue used by TPF”? It would be nice to invite Gary and / or James Davy to a tasting to accept their award.

2007 Dalva White Colheita (bottled 2017)
Dalva 2007 White. Bottled 2017. Nice colour. Served at cellar temp (12-14) nothing on the nose but some very faint barley sugar. Nice entry, honeyed without being sweet; a nice bitter quince core with some tannins showing through on the late palate. The late palate shows some light honey and a tiny ...

NV Dalva 20YO (bottled 2018)
Bottled 2018. Sweet honey and caramel on the nose. The caramel follows on to the palate, with caramelised orange. Surprisingly tannic palate, nicely balanced. Very pleasant and smooth drinking. 90/100. Tasted 14-Mar-22. Decanted 1 hour.

Re: 2019 Quinta do Cume
I know absolutely nothing about them. This was a bottle which appeared as one of the Ports submitted to the DWWA, which I got the chance to taste - wholly blind, all I knew was that I was tasting Vintage Ports from 2020-2017.

NV Cyprus Ruby Sweet Port
A very brown tone to the colour, 20% opaque. Milk chocolate on the nose, a little dirty. Nicely balanced entry but the mid-palate feels a little light. Mature and elderly, held together by the acidity. Gentle and lovely and on the decline. Served blind this was guessed to be Cockburn 1947. 88/100. T...

2019 Quinta do Cume
2019 Quinta do Cume. Smooth coffee bean fruit, the brandy still showing slightly. Nicely structured palate with the fruit showing well along with the exuberant acidity and tannins typical of a youthful Port. The fruit wins the battle, giving an element of sweetness and fragrance to the savoury and d...

2018 Quinta do Crasto
Quinta do Crasto. Childhood blackberry picking memories come flooding back when you smell this wine. Such fragrance to the fruit on the palate, slightly green tannins give pepper and heat to the fruit. Good complexity to the palate. Blackberry sweetness flashes briefly across the mouth before the ta...

Quinta da Corte. Lovely ripe fruit on the nose, great perfume. Silky texture, perfumed fruit and ripe but firm tannins - with just a tiny touch of greenness to them to give a great grip. Ripe and balanced fruit led aftertaste and a very good length finish. Another wine to make you smile. Tasted blin...

A fabulous dark red, the colour of black cherry juice. Pure fruit on the nose, sweet and fragrant, a blend of black cherry and ripe, sweet blackcurrant. Less overtly fruity on the palate, while there is plenty of fruit, the fruit sits within a lovely basket of acidity and gentle tannins. Warm mentho...
