I'm glad this has been delayed, for a bit. I have a lead on a local merchant with Warre's LBV from 95. Hopefully I can get out there in the next day or so.

Like Derek, I have been going crazy... at work (and outside of it too!) :)

Mindful that moves are afoot in the eu to outlaw filiament bulbs, I'm on the lookout for a small stock of clear glass bulbs to 'lay down' for the future - but all the ones in the supermarkets seem to the pearl type. If anyone sees clear glass bulbs on sale - please let me know! Tom These should be ...

Alex, I brought home a single litre bottle of this from the Heathrow Duty-Free shop when returning home from Austria in March. It is my only memory of England, aside from the assinine bus rides between terminals, and perhaps the lovely blond that seemed pleased to let me sample every single Scotch a...

Todd, Are you a computer and port geek? If so, the UK needs you. My company has hundreds of vacancies for good IT people and I have a need for a port friend with a good sense of humour, a sense of rythm, who doesn't have an inferiority complex and who would let me play with his explosives 88) Derek...

• Warre 1985 Mid-red, with a smell of strawberry (not quite ripe strawberry perhaps). Great length, large, though still tight and needs more years. I liked JFH’s word “thorough†. Still needs a few more years then Julian?? Thanks for the tip - perhaps you have saved a life from Death Row. The judge...

Until those tiny grey cells are wiped out by more than one glass of port, right Alan??? ;)

I'm finding my mind seems more and more muddled as the days (and glasses of port) increase. Co-incidence? (Probably!) :)

Certainly sounds like quite the offline gentlemen. I am sad to say that unless one of two events occurs, I will send my regrets.

Those two events being:
1. Win a lottery
2. Get sent somewhere close to St Helens by my job. (Frankly I give the lottery better odds!)

Alright, that leads me closer... While I have tried Drambuie and don't particularly remember anything spectacular about it, if I happen to see this at a bar I may try it out (without having to commit on purchasing an entire bottle that I may not like.)

Thanks Alan! (Enjoy!)

Optimum decanting time for Warre's 1985 VP

How long would you give this particular bottle? I am opening it in anticipation of a new work contract coming to fruition and setting me down the path to financial freedom and independence from the debilitating rigours of a regular 'day job.' Okay, not really. I'm opening it to celebrate me starting...

Wow Derek, those are some crazy prices...

$25 USD for a 1½ ounce pour of Warre 1985 VP (that happens to have been sitting open for anywhere between 2 weeks and 4 months.)

My good lord.

Julian, If you are ever heading around to the western parts of Canada, I have around a dozen and a half OBVs... 2003 though, so we may want to wait for 15-20 years for the tannins to integrate. ;)

Well, I know that the stuff we get here doesn't taste the same as in Dublin, but I always thought that was because we get some sort of 'export' derivate. I think we'll have to test this theory out by holding the aforementioned Guiness offline in Dublin. I'm betting its much better there than where ...
