Re: NV Quevedo 30YO White Bottled 2024
Thanks for the write-up George. I have a 500 ml bottle of this (not sure of the bottling date, but I'm thinking probably around 2019 or 2020) and was wondering how it drank. I'm waiting to open this for a special occasion. Maybe sometime this summer.

I've had the Barão de Vilar 10 year old white a few times and it was very good. They were also selling for about $17 per 500 ml bottle when I was able to find them 3 years ago. I still have 3 or 4 bottles left. I've never seen a Palmer 10 year old white, but if it's anything like the Barão de Vilar ...

I do always learn a lot on these calls and enjoy hearing others speak about their Port experiences although I will say in my view, 0% alcohol Port is blasphemy.

A quick look at my notes, I've only ever awarded a Port 100 points on 4 occasions, and only one of those was to a colheita. That was the Taylor bottling of the 1896 - and this was at a dinner where we drank side-by-side the 1855 Scion, 1863, 1896, Graham 1882, Whitwhams 1880 and the 1950s bottling ...

I'm starting to think their style is to make Madeira like Ports. I had their 1992 Colheita back in December and last night opened their 20 year-old Tawny. Both were dry and had high acidity and have some other aspects of a Madeira Bual. A tasting note will follow in a day or two.
