Gentle red with a brown-orange rim; 30% opaque. Farmyard nose , lots of dirty fruit but big and developed. Soft texture with dry tannins surrouning gentle fruit. There is a good fragrance to the palate but the fruit is fairly light and dry. Light texture but oddly powerful in flavour. There is a lingering finish despite the lightness of the wine. Served blind, I guessed this to be a pinot noir, mature, possibly from the eighties, perhaps a 1985; probably a Burgundy but no idea where within Burgundy. 85/100. Drunk 10-Apr-15 as part of the Doty Cup.
