Moët et Chandon NV

Really rather good, a bit of a funny nose, sort of musty biscuit and yeast. A bit fuller/sweeter than I'm used to but much better than I remembered. Decidedly champagne. Emma was enthusiastic and she is my lodestar in champagne.
Then we opened the Bollinger. Both in halves, the Moët was less than dust beneath it's chariot wheels.

I think the 25% offer is long gone. Sorry.
The Moët reminded me a little of the Canard Duchene that Andre was a bit sniffy about at the French House.

I saw it in Sainsbury's just now and kept my arm down, a wine delivery having arrived only this morning. Only purchase today: half bottle of Sainsbury's Madeira. Discipline.

Hm, I simply like my sparklers to be fairly dry. But the fact that you like both the Canard Duchene and the Moët does not surprise me. I don't like Moët champagne. I would always choose a "Widow Clic" over any Moët.

Hm, I simply like my sparklers to be fairly dry. But the fact that you like both the Canard Duchene and the Moët does not surprise me. I don't like Moët champagne. I would always choose a "Widow Clic" over any Moët.
Quite agree, not too sure about the Veuve either, apart from the vintage, which is excellent.

I never liked the Widow - overrated I think, and I like very dry champagne. I didn't mind the Canard but wouldn't rave about it. I gave no opinion on the Moët (though I'm not a fan). So think on..!
