No. I have to draw the line somewhere - these wines are probably not fortified and I don't have enough time for drinking port to allow myself to get distracted by another type of wine.
If someone (DRT) goes and finds there are fortified wines being made from Baga in Barraida, then please let me know!

Maybe we could start fortifying Barraida wines.

Re: Baga Friends tasting
I discovered today http://www.thewinedetective.co.uk/blog/ ... -the-year/ that there is still one fortified Baga being produced and the style is about to be recognised by the Portuguese wine authorities. If anyone gets the chance to try Filipa Pato EspÃrito de Baga Uma Saga (Beiras, Portugal) then please let me know what you think. I would anticipate a Maury-style wine.

I was flipping, electronically, through Portugal Vineyards catalogue and ran across this - Baga wine fortified with Baga Brandy - impossible for me to resist.AHB wrote:If anyone gets the chance to try Filipa Pato EspÃrito de Baga Uma Saga (Beiras, Portugal) then please let me know what you think. So I asked the lovely Cátia if she could source it, and, this morning, there it was.
I will pop the cork tonight, and report back.
I'm excited about this one!
